Alibaba has launched its Quark AI Glasses, an advanced wearable designed to rival Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. Powered by Alibaba’s Qwen large language model and Quark AI assistant, these glasses offer an array of features aimed at both professionals and tech enthusiasts.
The Quark AI Glasses provide real-time language translation, meeting transcription, hands-free calling, and music streaming. Users can also access Alibaba’s ecosystem for navigation via Amap and make payments through Alipay with just voice commands. This makes the glasses a multifunctional device, integrating seamlessly into everyday life and professional tasks.
Set to launch in China by the end of 2025, Alibaba’s new product aims to take on Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses and Xiaomi’s wearable technology, marking a significant move into consumer AI hardware. The introduction of these glasses follows the earlier release of Alibaba’s Quark AI assistant app, expanding its reach into the wearable tech space.
This development highlights the increasing significance of AI-powered wearables, with companies like Meta, Xiaomi, and Alibaba leading the charge. By leveraging its AI capabilities, Alibaba aims to offer a compelling alternative to existing products, setting the stage for an evolving competition in the smart glasses market.
