Meta Platforms has officially launched its new smart glasses, featuring a built-in display that marks a pivotal advancement in wearable technology. Introduced at the annual Meta Connect conference, these Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses are priced at $799 and will be available for purchase on September 30, 2025. The innovative product boasts a small, integrated display in the right lens, offering users seamless access to notifications, AI enhancements, and an intuitive wristband controller for gesture-based commands.
This new offering is a significant step towards the fusion of artificial intelligence with everyday life. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the potential of these glasses to represent a key element of “personal superintelligence.” Users will be able to stay present in their surroundings while leveraging AI capabilities to enhance communication, memory, and sensory experiences. Despite minor technical glitches during the demonstration, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the product’s ability to merge AI with daily interactions.
In addition to the Meta Ray-Ban Display, Meta unveiled the Oakley Vanguard smart glasses, tailored specifically for athletes. These glasses come equipped with an action camera, improved speakers, and enhanced water resistance. Priced at $499, the Vanguard glasses will be available starting October 21, 2025, and are designed to integrate with fitness platforms such as Garmin and Strava, delivering real-time stats and post-workout summaries.
Meta has also updated its previous line of Ray-Ban smart glasses, enhancing battery life, camera features, and AI integration. These glasses are available starting at $379 and continue to offer hands-free controls, livestreaming capabilities, and the company’s AI assistant. With these updates, Meta continues to push the boundaries of wearable technology.
While experts predict that immediate sales may be limited, the launch is seen as a crucial step towards Meta’s larger goal of releasing its “Orion” AR smart glasses by 2027. With ongoing investments in AI and wearable tech, Meta is positioning itself at the forefront of the next era in personal computing.
